Tutoring Foster Children

Academic support for students in foster care

In-Home Tutors Orlando owes much of its growth to our partnership with social services agencies in Central Florida. Over the past 15 years we have been privileged to serve thousands of children in foster care homes.

We have current relationships with the Foundation for Foster Children, Embrace Families and Devereux’s BNET program, and through them we work with other agencies including One Hope United and Gulf Coast JFCS.

Key Elements of Our Program

  • Assessments pinpoint a child’s skill levels at the start of the year and measure progress at the conclusion of tutoring
  • Close coordination with case managers, including monthly reports on each child
  • Trained tutors really care about their students
  • Tutors available for all age groups and subjects, pre-K to Adult, including GED instruction
  • Level 2 background checks for all tutors
  • Broad coverage throughout Central Florida – we support students in Orange, Seminole, Osceola, Brevard, Volusia, Pasco, Hillsborough, and Pinellas counties

Obtaining Services

If you are a case manager or caregiver, funding for tutoring must be approved via the agencies we work with, primarily Foundation for Foster Children and Embrace Families.

Our Regional Manager, Krysta DeMilio, oversees our partnership with social services agencies. If you need assistance with the process, please contact her at 407-459-1231.
